Grants Recipients of 2016 Artistic Development Grants Announced By Christine Lindsey Chequamegon Bay Arts Council (CBAC) has awarded Artistic Development Grants to three local artists. This grant promotes ongoing learning and encourages area residents to further their artistic abilities for reasons of personal growth. Elizabeth Ellis, Big Bay Creations, received an Artistic Development grant of $400 to attend a series of short-term and sequential jewelry and silversmith classes at Veberod Gem Gallery in Minneapolis. She has always been interested in jewelry making, educating herself on techniques, tools, and practices. Last winter Elizabeth took one class at the Veberod Gem Gallery which rekindled her creative juices and looks forward to more formal instruction from instructors at the gallery. Her work is currently displayed at the Madeline Island Candle Company, La Pointe Art Guild & Gallery on Madeline Island, La Pointe, WI and The Red Bicycle Gift Shoppe in Ashland, WI. CBAC’s Artistic Development grants are made possible by funding from the Wisconsin Arts Board which requires a local match of equal amount before distribution can take place Follow Big Bay Creations on Instagram / Pinterest/ Facebook
